What Our Community Says

"I have enjoyed various courses at CDT. I've met some lovely people. You all work so hard"

"When Remploy closed I was at a loss of what I could do next. As a deaf person it is difficult for me to apply for jobs. The staff at the Cornelly office (CDT) were great. They helped me job search, do a new CV and even phoned me to ask about a job.

In particular a lady called Fay made sure she saw me every week and we communicated well."

"I worked at CDT within a customer facing post. I really enjoyed being able to support community members to enhance their CVs through their volunteering at CDT and the courses they could access there. Being able to access free local training is essential to many people who have been out of employment for some time.

Their community friendly environment has proven to encourage people who may not have thought themselves ready or good enough"

"I first became involved with CDT in my teens. I was working within the community and wanted to give back too. I took part in many community events and forums through CDT that undoubtedly contributed to me gaining skills for life that have enhanced my professional development, as well as helped me to gain confidence.

Taking part in volunteering at the community events really helped me to feel a sense of belonging in my community and boosted my self esteem and helped my wellbeing. I honestly believe that being involved with CDT helped me to be the person I am today, it helped me to nurture a love for community that has led to me to run a successful local charity that uses community as a form of pedagogy in early years.

I am very grateful for the opportunities they provided and the support I received through members, especially Adrian. Thank you for all you have done for not only me, but my fellow residents."
